Beginning June 2013, we felt God pressing on our hearts towards adoption. China had always been on Kristina's heart from childhood but Jared wanted to research further. This is where the work of the Lord begins in our adoption journey....
July 2013 a meeting was set with Lifeline Children's Services to discuss the 5 countries we were considering. As the meeting progressed God began closing the doors to countries but leaving China wide open. It was the only country whose needs we met for adoption. The Lord spoke loud and clear that day to Jared, that indeed the country in which God placed on Kristina's heart was the country where our daughter has been born.
Over the course of the next 7 months we sold our house in Alabama, moved to North Dakota, began our Home Studies, background checks and filling out the mountain of paperwork required for our adoption. All the while the work of the Lord was being fulfilled though every step.
Almost one year later June 2014 our package containing all the paperwork, family pictures, background checks and such (called our Dossier) is finally approved and headed to China. Now we wait. We wait for the day to finally know our little one's (Chinese) name, to see her face, and to know that she is ours and we are hers.
This adoption is not just to grow our family of 3 to a family of 4, but this adoption is to obey the Lord's calling on our lives to be a father to the fatherless. To bring hope and the love of Jesus to one child, so that she too may live out a true testament of God's love.
Thank you for blessing us and helping us bring home our sweet one.
