Since 2012 I have been involved with a non-profit missions organization in Kona, Hawaii as a short term missionary. YWAM was founded in 1960 by Loren Cunningham who had a vision from God of seeing "waves" of young people all over the world being sent out to share the gospel with the unreached people groups of the world. Since then YWAM has focused on training up people to be sent out into the world through many different classes or "schools." The main school that YWAM has is called DTS (Discipleship Training school); it is a 6 month long program where students are discipled to essentially "Know God, and make Him known." The 6 month program consists of 2 parts, the first part is the lecture phase where you go to any YWAM base for a 3 months of intense discipleship through different speakers teaching on different topics such as: hearing the voice of God, father heart of God, how to read the bible etc.. The second part is outreach to another nation; this is where we get to apply everything that we learned in lecture phase and share the gospel with the people of that nation. I completed DTS in 2012 and went to Cambodia for outreach, last year I staffed the school and led a team to Oman, and I am staffing again this year and leading a team to east asia! My desire is to grow in relationship with Jesus, and to see students of my generation awaken to the reality that the God of the Bible is the God of today. As no missionary with YWAM is paid, I am living off of support from people like you! Please help me train up young people for Christ by buying a t-shirt! Thank you so much!
